Project description

SPRINT-Sustainable European sodium-ion batteries for stationary applications featuring improved PRocesses, Inherently safe and Non-Toxic materials.

Bringing together 17 partners (8 industry, 2 SMEs and 8 academic partners) from 11 European countries, SPRINT is an ambitious 46-month project that aims to revolutionise the stationary energy storage sector and support the transition to a greener, more resilient energy infrastructure. To achieve this goal, SPRINT will develop and demonstrate safe and sustainable quasi-solid-state sodium-ion batteries. It will also demonstrate scalable, cost-effective manufacturing using European supply chains and validate high-performance, sustainable chemistries tailored to end-user needs, ensuring rapid commercialisation.
