Library services
The Centria library acquires the course books required for university centre studies, which are not available as e-books. You can access the library either from the main entrance of the University of Applied Sciences or through a corridor from the 2nd floor of the University Centre.
From Centria-Finna you can find the opening hours of the library, instructions on how to obtain a library card and you can search for the material you need.
Also check out the collections of Kokkola City Library.
Interlibrary service
For example, if you need books from the collections of other libraries for your thesis, you can request them as interlibrary loans.
The inter-library service is free of charge for degree students. The staff of the university centre also receive interlibrary loans they need for their work free of charge. More information.

A large propotion of the course books are available as electronic books. E-books licensed by libraries can be borrowed through library collection databases. The number of borrowers may be limited, so you may also have to queue for e-books.
Newer scientific literature and scientific journals are also mostly available electronically. For example, research reports and dissertations have been published open access. For the most part, however, e-resources have been acquired by licensing to libraries, so students and staff can only use the material acquired by their own university library.
E-resources for University of Jyväskylä students are provided by the University of Jyväskylä Open Science Centre. They can be found in the JYKDOK database.
Electronic books and journals are available with the username and password of the University of Jyväskylä. No library card is required.
More information on the use and remote use of electronic materials
University of Oulu students find their e-resources in Oula and University of Vaasa students in Tritonia. They have their own instructions for remote use.
