Project description

Project objectives and results

The study investigates what kind of innovation activity SMEs in Central Ostrobothnia carry out, what is the content of innovation activity, where the idea for the innovation came from, why the innovation is being implemented, what made the company start the matter, which factors helped in implementing the innovation and which ones opposed it, by whom and in cooperation with whom the innovation was implemented, how the innovation was successful, whether further measures are still needed in the company to obtain maximum benefit, and how innovations should be promoted in the future in order to increase the innovation activity of companies in the region.

The study will be conducted by interviewing representatives of Central Ostrobothnian companies that have received business development assistance from the Central Finland’s ELY Centre during the EU regional and structural policy programming period 2021–2027 (approximately 30 interviews). The interviews will be recorded, transcribed and analysed using qualitative analysis methods.

The activities and results of the project will be reported in a publication published by the Kokkola University Consortium Chydenius, which will be freely available through the online service of the Publication Archive of the University of Jyväskylä.
