Biography

I have worked as a University teacher in Department of Teacher Education at Kokkola University Consortium Chydenius since 2014. I graduated from the University of Jyväskylä in 1998 as ME and drama educator and before university teachers' career I worked as a primary school teacher for over ten years with innovative mindset. I graduated with a PhD in Education in 2021. The research focus of my dissertation was Developing a model to guide the design of Phenomenon-Based learning entity into an ILO-design process model for student teachers in teaching practices. 

Research Areas

My research topics include designing phenomenal learning, drama education in support of grouping, the connection between Dewey pedagogy and phenoBL Learning, and digital pedagogy.

Teaching

My responsibilities in teaching include Multidisciplinary Learning and Integrative Learning Modules, Drama Education, Undergraduate Guidance, Academic Writing, Educational Philosophy and Advanced Educational Training.

Current Research Project

I am currently working on an article on the design process of phenomenon Based Learning based on my PhD thesis, finishing an article on drama education and grouping, and starting a research project as part of a research group.

Project work

I am an educator in the Continuing Education Project funded by the Board of Education to strengthen the Teacher's Pedagogical Digital Competence
and the Management of Digital Learning Environments in Early Childhood Education Project (VAKAVA).
