The multidisciplinary doctoral programme at the Kokkola University Consortium Chydenius is permanent home to a postgraduate education group in the field of information technology. The emphasis is on research, specifically on the doctoral dissertation or the licentiate thesis.

In addition to personal guidance, the doctoral education contains subject area studies. There are specialization studies, postgraduate education courses, and seminars to which specialist lecturers are invited from the University of Jyväskylä and other universities, too. In offering postgraduate education, the Kokkola University Consortium Chydenius emphasises the importance of networking both nationally and internationally.

The information technology doctoral programme’s research team is led by Professor Ismo Hakala. Furthermore, there are comprehensive guidance resources for the doctoral students in the University Consortium; there are nearly twenty doctoral candidates working on various assignments.
