Master´s Programme in Social Work

The Kokkola University Consortium’s master’s programme in social work leads to the degree of Master of Social Sciences awarded by the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Jyväskylä with social work as the main subject.  

The programme provides the necessary qualification for a position of social worker, as the law on professional qualifications for social welfare staff lays down that a social worker shall have a higher basic university degree (master’s degree) which includes main subject studies in social work or is supplemented by university studies equivalent to these main subject studies.
